Apple Highlights the Best Platformers on the App Store

Apple occasionally publishes lists on iTunes highlighting their top picks for select categories, and they've today posted their top platforming games - a genre that I've grown to love especially on iOS. From the older titles including Canabalt, to our 2011 Game of the Year, League of Evil, the list is worth checking out if you're an hardcore fan of various twists on the classic platforming formula as well as the games that pay homage to their past predecessors.

‘iTunes Rewind’ List Highlights Apple’s Bests of 2011

It’s nearing the end of the year, and while all of the general public is out bustling through stores eagerly finding gifts to present to their loved ones, Apple’s employees have compiled their annual iTunes Rewind list that has highlighted their picks for the best in iTunes’ various media categories.

Apple Adds New iTunes List, “Benchmark Games”, We Agree

I’m not sure how recently this list was added by Apple, but it was new for me, so I decided to post about it. Apple has compiled yet another one of their popular App Store lists, which this time around includes links to Apple’s “Benchmark Games” for multiple categories.

Birmingham City University and Screen WM to Offer iPhone Game Developer Camp This Autumn

Aspiring UK-based iPhone game developers are being offered a four-week training course through Birmingham City University and Screen WM with support through Advantage West Midlands. According to Macworld UK, Gamer Camp, a Birmingham-based training course for aspiring games artists and programmers from both within and outside the industry, will run for five days a week between November 16th and December 11th of 2009.
