Not one to disappoint as a product launch is leaked over and over, Apple has begun sending out invitations for next week's iPad mini announcement. The oddly-psychedelic invitation hints at what's in store with the tagline "We've got a little more to show you." Confirming our iPad mini suspicions, we will undoubtedly find out more about the new tablet on Tuesday... for now, join us after the break for a preview of the event.

As people have gotten used to the virtual keyboard on the iPhone, most of the complaints about it's general quirkiness compared to physical keyboards have died down. It's efficiency is still an issue, though, and person has decided to put it to the test once again. This time they're seeing how it stacks up to a full-size laptop keyboard, the Newton MessagePad, Palm Graffiti, Treo's physical keyboard, and good old pen and paper. As many of you probably already know, Google today officially released the Nexus One, the first Android-based phone to be sold by Google. But I know what you iPhone-weilding hipsters really want to know; how does it compare to the iPhone? Well my babies, the great folks over at the BillShrink blog have created a comparison chart using the specs from the iPhone, the Nexus One, the Droid, and the Pre.
The chart not only compares specs like storage capacity, battery life, and camera, but it also breaks down the total cost of the devices over the lives of their contracts. Of course there's no obvious winner out of the bunch, but it's great to get a nice breakdown before you start making plans to switch carriers. Graphic after the break!
The HTC Nexus (alias: Google Phone) has gotten a lot of hype (which we also helped promote). Many see it as the first to truly stand any chance of competing with the iPhone and providing enough competition to influence Apple, but so little was known about it that doing any meaningful comparison to the iPhone was impossible. Today that changed with the appearance of a video demo of the Nexus's interface and comparison photos showing it next to the iPhone and HTC Hero.
A possible defect on some of the iPhone 3G's out there may have been spotted. One user on the MacRumors forums who upgraded to an iPhone 3G today from an old iPhone noticed a difference in the tint of the screen, reporting that they were strangely yellower than the older models in tint.
