Orange Poland Hired Actors To Wait In Line Prior To iPhone 3G Launch

The iPhone 3G has no trouble drawing in long lines of people waiting outside Apple's stores in the US, creating good publicity for the device's popularity, but the devision of Orange that will be the official carrier in Poland has decided not to leave things to chance. Rather than relying on popularity of the device and word of mouth or conventional advertising, they have hired paid actors to form lines outside their stores to create interest.

"We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," a spokesman said.

It is slightly concerning that queues had not actually formed on their own outside stores previous to todays launch (also the case in T-Mobile stores launching today), but hiring actors seems just a little fake.
