NYTimes Video Provider Brightcove Announces HTML5, iPad Support

Brightcove, the online video provider for large brands such as The New York Times and Time, Inc., announced today that they will be supporting HTML5 video for their customers. This announcement conveniently falls mere days before the launch of the iPad which will not support Flash video, which has been the traditional means of delivering online video.

All customers of Brightcove, which includes a large number of magazine and newspaper publishers, will have the new HTML5 support available to them at no additional cost. Currently only The New York Times and Time, Inc. are taking advantage of HTML5 video and plan to be ready for the iPad on April 3.
