New Design For Next iPhone?

Our friends over at The iPod Observer have recently been sent a picture of what seems to be a new iPhone design. The source of the photo claims that the new design will do away with the current iPhone's brushed aluminum back and instead sport a glossy black back. We've been assured by The iPod Observer that the image comes from an extremely reliable source. Also, the writing on the back of the phone not only suggests that it's not a current iPhone, but that it's not likely to be a "quickie" Photoshop job.
Edit: And no, it's not a colorware.

So does this "iPhone" look like it is made out of similar plastic to Apple's current mouses (mice?)? Well then if it is we can expect scraches galore...at least for my fellow case-free users. Also it looks like a toy and almost childish, with Apple attempting to market the iPhone as a business phone this may not be the best design.
Does anyone recall reading somewhere that right before the iPhone's launch Jobs in his infinite wisdom decided to change the way the phone looked? I maybe making that up, but if I am correct maybe this is the way it was originally meant to look...

I have a white Mighty Mouse that doesn't scratch at all.

Colorware paints over the print and adds their Colorware Custom to the base of the iPhone.


The plastic back can only improve it's lame reception. I have tried all of the suggestions I have read to improve my signal strength. I hold mine upside down and face Cupertino.

I'm not a fan of this look. I really like the current back of the iPhone because it doesn't look like a cheap piece of plastic like this one does. It also doesn't smudge or scratch easily. I hope this is a fake.

In response to the comment that the mighty mouse doesn't scratch... Do you carry your mouse in your pocket daily? A mighty mouse hardly goes through the same type of abuse that a cell phone does.

hey guys, about my comment with my mouse getting scratched I should have mentioned that I use a wireless one sometimes, and sometimes I do carry it in my pocket . However I do tend to abuse my devices (currently on iPhone # 3) so I guess my opinion on scraches maybe a little off.....

ColorWare or not, this is what I'm gonna do to my iPhone for the mean time.

Black iPhone = Sexy
