Mac App Store Hits Milestone

Though it isn’t growing at the rapid pace of its mobile counterpart, yesterday was a fairly large day for the Mac App Store.

There are now a total of 10,000 applications available to be downloaded from the Mac App Store. Including both paid and free applications, the store houses larger, more expensive applications in comparison to its counterpart for iOS devices. These applications can usually be downloaded from third-party websites if not from Apple themselves.

While 10,000 is hardly comparable to the large number of applications that the App Store boasts, which is over 600,000 to be exact, it’s a milestone for the Mac App Store – it shows that the store isn’t caving but is instead thriving.

That being said, we wish the Mac App Store a wonderful future and welcome such milestones.
