Jobs Says P.A. Semi Acquisition Intended For iPod, iPhone Chips

When Apple announced in mid-April earlier this year that they had acquired the chip manufacturing company P.A. Semi, people could only imagine what their reasoning for doing so could have been. Not any longer. Steve Jobs announced at the second keynote speech at WWDC during his talk about the upcoming revision of Mac OS X, called "Snow Leopard" that the aquisition of the super-efficient chip maker was intended for the iPod and iPhone line. Said Steve: “PA Semi is going to do system-on-chips for iPhones and iPods.”
