Ive Given MDA Personal Achievement Award For iPhone's Design

Jonathan Ive, Apple's Senior VP of Industrial Design (the guy who helped put the shiny in the iPhone) has been awarded the 2008 MDA Personal Achievement Award an award by the Mobile Data Association, a UK group honoring "those UK companies and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the uptake and success of mobile data over the last 12 months."

The award was given him for the iPhone's design, which judges said "has completely redefined the mobile phone as we know it."

"The iPhone is arguably the most talked about consumer-electronics device that has hit the market in the last 5 years," the judges commented.

They also mistakenly credited him with much of the device's UI, which was the work of a team of designers, software engineers, and Steve (according to Patent filings).

"[The iPhone] sets the bar very high for all present and future competitors and as such, is shaking the mobile phone industry. We look forward to seeing Ive's design innovation continuing to challenge the mobile world," judges said.

Anyone know what Ive's running total is now?

Personally I think they deserve every award they get. The iphone revolutionized the cell phone market and is only growing stronger buy the day. Who knows what will be after 3g.... iphone mini? PV charging iphones never needing to be plugged in?

maybe even one with abobe flash player lolol

I don't know, man. That iPhone with Flash player sounds like crazy talk to me. I think you've completely lost it.
