Black iPhone Mod Looks Cool, Cooler Under Electron Microscope

Not crazy about the iPhone's anodized aluminum look? (What's wrong with you??) Well, one person on the Gen[M]ay forums decided to make one of the coolest and most professional iPhone mods I've ever seen, re-coloring the exterior a sleek black. He also snapped some nifty pictures of the un-modded iPhone through a $30,000 optical microscope and a $250,000 electron microscope. Pictures after the break.
Gen[M]ay member KnightKrew decided to re-finish the rear housing and chrome bezel using a plasma deposition technique, resulting in a jet-black iPhone dubbed the "iPhone Custom". You can see pictures here.
Afterward he showed some images he took while analyzing the surfaces of the iPhone, some with an optical microscope and some with a more powerful (and expensive) electron microscope. The details they reveal are pretty amazing. Click on the image below to see the iPhone up close.
