Apple Removes The ' ' from 'iPhone 3GS'

Enjoying that new iPhone 3G S? Well, get ready to have your world rocked, because it's not an iPhone 3G S anymore. With the speed and silence of a ninja, Apple has renamed every reference of the 'iPhone 3G S' on their website to 'iPhone 3GS', effectively changing its name retroactively. Sure, it might not mean much to you, but sure makes our lives easier.

I really dislike the name iPhone 3GS. It's like saying the new iPhone model is the "iPhone 3G and a 1/2" because there isn't really much difference between the iPhone 3G and the 3GS. I'm holding off till next year with the hope that Apple will provide 5 to 10 MP camera with Xenon flash, front video call camera, 802.11n, a camera app with digital zoom, light filters and timer, larger flash storage and UMA support.

I like your line of thought, but want my phone to stay smaller than a book. Thats waaaay too much tech to fit in the size of the iphone currently. Xenon flash alone will take up an inch or more (gotta dissipate the heat!). Its a good thought though.

Have fun reprinting all those boxes. Knuckleheads.

K, u realize this is a cellphone, right. BTW, xenon flashes generate too much heat, and thus require too much space. They have plenty of apps for zoom, as well as light filters and timers.

P.S. With battery life as a key concern, a xenon flash, UMA, or 802.11n arent' happing anytime soon.

There's probably a handful of reasons but perhaps one could be that searching for "iPhone 3G S" searches for "iPhone" "3G" and the letter "S". Searching for the letter "S" is just a bad idea. Google actually kicks back almost 7 billion pages if you search just for that. So perhaps they're optimizing the search results for their new, awesome product.

Did you see the tweet, too?

This isn't much of a change for me beacuse I've been calling it the 3GS since it came out.
