Apple Featuring iPad-Ready Websites

Today Apple posted a new page to its website, featuring certain websites that are “iPad-ready.” While most sites on the web are easily viewable on the iPad thanks to Safari, Apple is focusing on sites which have relied on Adobe Flash to provide content in the past and have since updated to support playback on the new device. Quoting Apple, “iPad features Safari, a mobile web browser that supports the latest web standards — including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Here are just a few of the sites that take advantage of these web standards to deliver content that looks and functions beautifully on iPad.”

Sites featured include Vimeo, CNN, New York Times, Time, Major League Baseball, and TED. And while the list of iPad-compatible video sites is quite a bit longer, you can check out Apple’s list of iPad-ready websites on Apple.com.
