App Store Turns 1 Year Old Today

The App Store turned one year old today, marking it's first birthday. In just one year, it has gone from being an idea to revolutionizing the industry, and setting the standard for what people now expect from a smartphone. To commemorate the event, Apple has put together a list of some of their favorite apps. You can check it out in the App Store.

Seems so long ago now that we used to have to jailbreak our phone to get cool things like games and all. And remember the Apple webapps experiment? That was a joke (at least to me).
Even though I still like to jailbreak I'm very happy that Apple finally got their crap together and put together a great app store. There are so many high quality apps (along with a bunch of inevitable clunkers) and for the most part the prices are very reasonable. Great job!
