3G S Sales Beating Last Year's 3G Launch Day

Despite what would seem to be far shorter lines, O2 UK has revealed that as of noon local time they have already sold more iPhone 3G S handsets than they did for the entire day of the iPhone 3G launch last year. By the end of the day, they estimate sales to be 50% more than last year. Meanwhile, AT&T says they have pre-sold "hundreds of thousands" of the devices prior to today, leading AppleInsider to speculate that they could easily sell more than a million of them in just the first three days.

GREAT...MORE NETWORK TRAFFIC

GREAT...MORE NETWORK TRAFFIC TO SLOW US DOWN AND DROP OUR CALLS. At&t was great when I bought my original iphone 2G. but now it is getting out of hand. Everyone wants an iphone.. Since they lowered the prices so many people are buying iphones and crowding the network. I can't even use my phone for a simple phone call.. I now own the original 3G phone and it is worse. The network id so congested with teenagers talking on the phone and texting all day... Sure makes a great ipod though! hah!!!!

i have noticed a slowing down of EDGE recently, Pandora never used to skip when i was in town but now it almost always does and that makes me a sad panda

Great - I hope everyone becomes and iPhone users.
