The Hidden .com Button In Mail - November 17th, 2008, 12:00 AM #1 |
![]() Apple made sure to tout the fact that Safari has a nifty on its keyboard .com button for easy URL typing, but it seems like they forgot about Mail. As it turns out, Mail does have a .com button, but it's hidden. To get to the magical .com button, simply hold period for 2 seconds and a popup containing .com will appear. Also available are .org, .edu, and .net. Now go email your mom... and include a link to something! [via Mac Help Blog]

I am so glad you just pointed that out! I've been getting so annoyed by having a ".com" button for everything BUT mail. My problems are solved... thank you Michael!

I see thw period key when I am putting in the address, but when I move to the body of the message, it goes away and the space bar is full size. How do I make the key come back?

Correct... and there are some other fields with custom called buttons like ".com" in Safari etc...

Very useful when web browsing - December 20th, 2008, 09:00 PM #7 |

I have found this tip to be extremely useful and helpful when web browsing. It cuts down on the amount of hunting and pecking one must do on Safari.

Any thought on accommodating the Canadian users? .ca is pretty common.
