SwirlyMMS for iPhone 2.x Software Released - September 17th, 2008, 06:19 PM #1 |
![]() Those of you who are fans of SwirlyMMS will be happy to know that the SwirlySpace Team announced that SwirlyMMS 1.2 for firmware 2.x has been released. For those of you who aren't familiar, SwirlyMMS is a stand-in MMS app that lets you send multimedia messages to other SwirlyMMS users. You can send images, text, audio, video, as well as any other filetype you want. 2.1 is compatible with both 2G and 3G iPhones and is now available in Cydia for download.

Nice - September 17th, 2008, 06:52 PM #2 |
|
its so nice that as iphone users we get to deal with this crap instead of just having MMS from AT&T.
what if i want to send a friend an MMS who dont have an iphone with swirly MMS, they cant get it? WTF So i can ONLY send MMS to other swirly users. LAME just stop fuCking around and get us the REAL MMS from at&t. this type of crap is a waste of our time as well as the resources to run it. If i have to send an iphone to iphone MMS ill just use EMAIL not swirly MMS. i need mms to sent to non iphone users. thats kinda the point of being versatile. this is the exact opposite!!! I would love to poke the developer in the eye with a sharp spoon!! |

Idiot - September 17th, 2008, 07:18 PM #3 |

You sir, are an idiot.
Have you thought of how much time these people put in to making this app? Can you do better? Let's see, you can't do better but you are negatively criticizing someone who tries their hardest to make mms possible, if not complete (yet)? 'nuff said Ace |

The info is wrong, you can send MMS to whatever you like, whether is an iPhone with SwirlyMMS or not.
So, madscientest, shut the f*** up!

Has a point - September 17th, 2008, 11:54 PM #8 |

Based on the contents of the article what madscientist says makes total sense. Not to mention the pieces I have read about the games you have to play to get AT&T to put MMS access on your iPhone account. We have the state of the art phone in our hands but when my daughter sends me a text message with a picture attached I have to jump through hoops to see it. That makes zero sense.
So what, if any, special steps did you take to get the MMS to a Blackberry? smoketx |

Um.. wrong again. Sure you can send another iPhone an MMS, but if they don't also have SwirlyMMS running, they won't receive it.

by the way, most of the 3,000 apps are junk. this is my opinion and im entitled to it and ill keep saying that. out of 3,000 apps tell me which ones add any real functional ability that is usefull. no im not talking about ANY network or social blogging junk.. those are trash and have no real purpose in life. I can go to facebook and myspace with the web browser, and dont need a special app for that. that is just pure laziness. The only few good apps out there are a FEW overpriced games. and just give something to do while i need to waste some time. |

Correction to the article, SwirlyMMS is a general MMS client - September 24th, 2008, 05:17 PM #15 |
|
SwirlyMMS is a general MMS client and can send MMS to any MMS capable phone and receive MMS from anyone and not only to/from other iPhones with SwirlyMMS!

What do you mean I'm calling you an idiot and they are trying their hardest?Simply put, you are not providing constructive criticism but rather pointless criticism for the heck of it. You cannot just say 3000 apps are pointless, as you have not tried anywhere near all 3000. Stop criticizing. Ace |

I think you are missing the point. The program lets you send MMS msg's to "other iPhone users who have SwirlyMMS installed"; but it can send MMS msg's to any other device capable of receiving/sending those msg's.
"Worthless" is defined by the user. You or I may only like a few programs for the iPhone and there will THOUSANDS of others who take delight in all the other programs as well. This doesn't make the programs a wast of time for anyone. My advice: lighten up. You'll live longer. This is from a "former" Type A personality! |
