Video: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed For iPhone - July 17th, 2008, 04:17 PM #1 |
![]() Phonesaber wet our appetite for iPhone-related Star Wars geekdom, and now THQ is here to pick up where it left off. They're working on a new game for the iPhone and iPod touch called Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Unlike most of the games out there right now, it doesn't use the accelerometers for anything but rotating the game between landscape and portrait. Instead it relies on touchscreen gestures to let you do things like block enemy fire or levitate things with the force. Video after the break. [via CrunchGear]

The iPhone really needs an analog stick. Badly. You lose some much from the game if it moves the character for you. The controls look pretty cool, though. Still, I don't think they did too great of a job with the iPhone version. I guess we'll see how it turns out. It'd be a lot cooler if you could make down hallways and then you can swing your lightsaber in different directions to attack and dodge enemies, then you could draw a quick shape, which would be better if there was a way to remove it so it doesn't display on-screen, and the enemies move with your finger, which is better than the "swipe then the enemies move after" control. Still, it looks like a cool game and I'll probably give it a try when it comes out.

i think it would be better if you could, after picking up an item with the force, move your finger around the screen and it would move the item around in the direction you drag it. then, with a flick, like in your address book, safari, etc. you could throw it.
