Downgrade From 2.0 Beta and Restore Full Functionality -    #1

So let's see, which one of you ignored our warnings and decided to upgrade their phones to the 2.0 beta? If you did, you've likely ended up at a pink activation screen with no way to activate. This is because your phone hasn't been authorized for the beta. If you're stuck, you can downgrade your iPhone back to 1.1.4 and use it once again.

Surprisingly, the method is easier than you'd think. Simply put your phone into restore mode and option-click the Restore button to select the 1.1.4 restore package. After the restore process, you'll get error 1015. This is because the phone's baseband cannot be downgraded and you'll be stuck in restore mode again. All that's needed is to use one of your favorite iPhone tools to bring it back into normal mode. Using ZiPhone, click "Mode>Restart In Normal Mode" to bring the phone back. Activate in iTunes and you're back in business.

Again, don't upgrade to the latest beta if you're not a developer. Pwnage tool will reportedly "hackitvate" the beta, but we still don't really recommend using it.

Still problems -    #4
I have follwed the instructions you haveput, but I am having a problem in Restore on the itunes. I did upgrade my phone to 2.0 which in turn locked my phone, I want to downgrade again so I can use it like before.

I have ziphone and tunes 7.6.2.9, which when i connect the iphone it tells me 'iTunes has deteched an iPhone in recovery mode.' , then I hold SHIFT and Restore in itunes and i tell it where to Restore the file from. But it keeps giving me errors after the restore file has been used.

Error: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [20].

The error numbers come up after the Restore, which means it does not work and the itunes cant see the iphone again till I close and restart but it keeps doing the same thing. Am I doing something wrong as I thought it would just restore to the file I told it to, I downloadedboth 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 but they both do the same error.

remember to save it somewhere easy to find on your pc/mac cos you'll need to be able to find it.
