Sharing your current location with your family or friends is very common these days. With iPhones, it is even easier. You can share your location from iMessage right away, without opening the map on your iPhone. iOS has a feature that has an option to share your location with your contacts. The only requirement is that the other person also needs to have an iOS device.
Steps to Share Location on iPhone from iMessage
1. Launch iMessage
Tap the Messages app icon on the home screen of your iPhone. It’s the white dialogue balloon with a green background. Messages will display the latest messages on your iPhone.
2. Tap on a message of a contact you want to share your location with
The threads to the selected chat will be displayed on the screen.
3. Tap the “Details” button
It’s at the top right of the screen and will open more options for the particular chat.
4. Share your location
From the Details menu, tap “Share my current location” with the person you’re chatting with. A message will pop up asking you to allow Messages to share your location. Tap “Allow” at the bottom right of the pop-up. This will make a post on the chat showing your current location.
