Music from the iPhone Ads

Those iPhone ads sure are catchy, aren't they? In the YouTube era, I'm willing to bet that more than a handful of folks would love to parody those ads. The only problem is that the music used is pretty key. If you don't have the music, it won't feel the same. I did some investigation and found that the song played in the ad is actually "Perfect Timing" by Orba Squara. I cracked open Rogue Amoeba's Fission and cut the song down to what it is in the ads. So while this tip isn't really a tip, at least it's something fun.

Download the iPhone Ad music here and enjoy!

I can get the music to play in iTunes, but it does not play on myiPhone - any ideas?

I think this song is a raw aif. You may need to change the extension from aif to aiff. I know that the phone will play those. You may also want to try converting it to an mp3 if you still have problems.

Right click ->>AAC

Right click ->>convert to AAC

That works, too. I actually think AAC is better than MP3

Convert to m4a

Just right click iTunes and convert it to native format. Plays perfectly, or rename it to aif as the last poster suggested.

This was recorded too loud, so some clipping and distortion occurs.

What do you mean? I don't have any trouble at all.

Thanks

I did try the new file type. I dont think AAC is any better than mp3 - but I think that is because the qualiy of the commercial music is not prime. Is there any reason to save files in AAC rather than mp3?

I can't detect any problem with the quality of the music. AAC is much better than MP3, fyi.

Thanks

Thanks for the help with the mp3 vs. AAC. I am glad to know one is clearly better than the other - still not sure why but I can google it and see what I can find.

I finally figured out where to join the forum, so I won't be known simply as "unregistered" But perhaps as the "member formerly known as unregistered"

"Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) is a standardized, lossy compression and encoding scheme for digital audio. AAC is promoted as the successor to the MP3 format by MP3’s creator, Fraunhofer IIS."

That says it all, for me. If the creator of MP3 sees AAC as superior, then I believe it

Wow, I didn't know that. That just about does it for me too.

AAC - very interesting

Thank you for taking the time to explain that. So AAC is a better way. If I were to move music from iTunes (in AAC) would it still make an audio CD?

Cyn

Yes, you can still make an audio CD from AAC. In fact, all the music you download from the iTunes Music Store is AAC. The thing you do not want to do is convert your current MP3 collection into AAC. By the time the music becomes MP3, you've already lost the quality that AAC would have saved. The best way is to re-rip your music.

Personally, I haven't done this because I just have too much, but I'm converting gradually.

iTunes

Thanks, I have adjusted my iTunes import settings accordingly.

Thanks

Thanks allot its really catchy!

research- difference between mp3 and aac

Really mp3 and aac sound different! aac files sound are clean and quality, but for all that sound more mechanical, with some iron rigidity!
Depend from your choice. Someone never change mp3 to aac! I prefer mp3 but when I convert music to my iPhon I using aac, therewith my TuneCab converter work miracles and sounds - amazing!

What are you talking about iron and mechanical ? you lost it somewhere in the armory ?

And what is that title you are mentioning ? You meant Tunebite as a converter ?

Your post doesn't make any sense dude

You know, I wasn't going to say anything about that, but...

about my post or bluestar over here that has just landed on planet Earth ?

I was referring to Martian man

Dose AnyOnw Anyone At all Know the name of the song on the newest i-pod comercial...it go's " Music Is My Boyfrind,Music Is My Girlfriend ,Music Is My Daddy ,Music It My Imagnary Friend" ANyone Please I Love It And Id Really Like To Know The Name !! Please

mp3

You should change the converting format in iTunes. You need to go into Preferences, then click Advanced. Go to Importing, the under the "Import Using" drop-down menu, click MP3 encoder. Now you're set. Once you download it from here, you right-click (control, click) on the song, and it converts it to MP3. Hope this helps!

eh, it depends on the encoder. LAME MP3 is better than AAC, but AAC is better than non-LAME mp3.

That's sweet!!! I did the same thing with 1.2.3.4

If anyone wants the 1.2.3.4. song from the iPod Nano commercial, shoot me an email at alockbox@ gee-mail-dot-com (that's google's mail, for those of you who don't know)...

Just put 1.2.3.4. ringtone as the subject....

It depends on how you parody something, check out this article on wikipedia:

i phone ad music

What is the song in the iphone/atat ad that sounds like Green Day? No lyrics in the ad, just instrumental guitar bass and drums. Anyone know?

The song is quite addicting me and it has been bothering me that I have had no idea who the artist is till now. The song is called "Music Is My Hot Hot Sex" by Cansei De Ser Sexy. Whenever the iPhone commercial comes on with this song, I'm always listening and usually singing all.
