Hold The Shift Key While Typing

If you're like me, caps lock is rarely used on the iPhone but sometimes you just need the next couple of letters to be capitalized. A good example is if you're typing out something like "OK" or "IM", or any number of other upper-case abbreviations. Thankfully, iPhone's multi-touch is smart enough to allow you use the shift key just like you can on a computer. Simply hold down the shift key while you type on the iPhone's keyboard and every letter will be capitalized.

That's sure to save you a few taps every now and then!

why not do this instead

The iPhone does include a Caps Lock feature -- the trick is finding it so you can turn it on. Here's how:
Tap Settings
Tap General
Tap Keyboard
Tap the Enable Caps Lock slider
The Caps Lock slider is like a toggle switch. Tapping it once enables the feature, tapping it a second time shuts it back off.
Using the Caps Lock is really simple: Quickly tap the Shift key twice. Instead of the usual glowing arrow that tells you your next letter will be upper case, the whole Shift key turns blue. Tapping the Shift key again turns Caps Lock back off.

So simplistic!

Wow. So simple yet something that actually can be useful. Thanks.

He didn't write it to teach people how to write in caps. He wrote this to remind people that they can just hold shift for typing a word or two in all caps instead of having to press shift for every letter of the word/sentence. If you're going to try and insult someone with sarcasm, at least understand what his main focus was and address it. You missed it completely.

When I first read this it didn't work. Now its working. I swear my iPhone is on to me!!!!

And... the chock lock? )=

I just tried this out and it works. Looks so simple but its very nice. Thanks for it .
