OS 3.0 For iPod Touch Download Page Found In iTunes Store

A download page for OS 3.0 for the iPod touch has been discovered in iTunes. The page is not yet functional, but does appear to complete the transaction and prompt the user to connect their iPod touch to iTunes, after which it says OS 2.2.1 is still the current version, and cancels the download. Apple Support Trainees Confirm iTunes Video Downloads Directly To iPhone in 3.0?

AppleInsider says "people familiar with Apple's training program" tell them that new self-guided training materials are being distributed to AppleCare agents teaching them about the features in iPhone OS 3.0, and they "definitely covered" the direct downloading of movies and TV shows to the device itself.

Screenshots have been found that show video downloads in the Mobile iTunes store on the iPhone, which would theoretically let you purchase a TV episode or movie and download it right on your iPhone. AllThingsD has also uncovered actual links to a currently not-opperational skeleton store, which suggests that it's for real (access to both URLs found has already been disabled). Over in the land down under, Apple's Australian iTunes Store has just begun to offer television programming for sale. The online location is offering a standard price of $2.99 AUS per episode, although no season passes seem to be available as of this writing as of now.
