Public Radio App [App Store, $2.99] is a new app that acts as a DVR for your favorite public radio stations. With it, you can listen to NPR whenever you want, as well as "pause and rewind public radio streams from NPR, PRI, APM and local public radio stations."

Sirius XM Announces XM SkyDock Adapter for iPhone, iPod Touch

On Thursday, satellite radio provider Sirius XM announced the launch of XM SkyDock, an accessory that will allow iPhone and iPod touch users to receive live XM and "The Best of Sirius" satellite radio in their vehicles. Per Digital Daily, the unit is scheduled to launch in the fall at suggested price of $119.99 and utilizes a vehicle's cigarette lighter power port to mount and power the device and iPhone or iPod touch.

The PowerBrick Reserve is a standard wall charger for your iPhone that has a removable emergency battery magnetically held in place that can be removed and plugged into your iPhone when you're out of juice and can't find an outlet.

Patent: Add-On TV/Radio Reciever For iPhone, iPod

A new Apple patent application has been found that shows that Apple may be looking to either build or support a hardware add-on for the iPhone and iPod lines that would allow it to directly receive streaming Radio and/or TV. The device pictured in the patent would attach directly to an iPod or iPhone, and would accept signals from one or more formats, including AM, FM, HD or satellite radio, or TV standards such as cable, satellite, over-the-air or IPTV.

uXM, uSirius Being Ported To iPhone 2.0 Software, Possibly App Store?

Millard Software has announced that they are currently working on porting their two satellite radio clients, uXM and uSirius, to the iPhone OS 2.0. Neither of them are official applications yet, so they will only run on a jailbroken phone, but both of them will work on EDGE, Wi-Fi, or 3G. With all the talk of a merger, it is hoped that they will soon turn their attention to the iPhone, but either way Millard Software is porting the apps using the SDK. They may try to launch them on the App Store if possible.

uSirius Streams Sirius Radio Over EDGE, Wi-Fi On iPhone

If you're having a bad case of the musical blahs and Instinctiv Shuffle isn't spicing things up enough for you, you might want to consider uSirius. It's a new native application available in Installer.app that lets you listen to Sirius Satellite Radio on your phone over an EDGE or Wi-Fi (and soon 3G). You can try the app for three days for free before you have to register, and it works smoothly over either internet connection. You can find it in Installer.app.

Rumor: Firmware 2.0 Adds FM Support, FOTA?

iPhone Atlas claims to have word from an unnamed user in possession of the unreleased iPhone firmware 2.0 that the new software will have support for both FM radio and FOTA (firmware over the air). We don't know the validity of their information, but if true it could mean that the iPhone and iPod touch will be capable of using Apple's iPod Radio Remote, which contains an FM radio tuner.
