GPS outfit Magellan on Monday introduced a premium car kit for Apple's iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch handsets. The kit includes a built-in GPS receiver, an amplified speaker, a noise-canceling microphone, and Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls and turn-by-turn directions and works with all navigation applications, including Magellan’s RoadMate for iPhone.
Yesterday we told you about Magellan's new turn-by-turn navigation app, RoadMate 2010 North America [App Store, $79.99], the latest in a long line of navigation apps. You might also be interested to know that they have an upcoming car kit similar to TomTom's. Unlike theirs, both Magellan's app and car kit will work on the iPod touch and non-GPS iPhones,
being the first solution to bring turn-by-turn GPS to the non-GPS Apple handhelds.
Everyone wants a killer turn-by-turn GPS navigation application for their iPhone and following the release of TomTom's program, Magellan RoadMate 2010 North America [App Store, $79.99] appeared in the App Store over the weekend, bringing a full-featured GPS solution including text-to-speech, lane guidance, and a "OneTouch" feature for easy access to favorite destinations.
