Today, I bring you a short piece of news, but one definitely with importance pertaining to the iPhone 5. Two particular retailers (suspense, even though I say who in the title) have dropped the price of the iPhone 4 in supposed anticipation of a new hardware update – in other

Vector Tanks

Vector Tanks is a throwback to the old arcade games of the early 80s. If you can remember the classic game Battlezone, then this will give you flashbacks. The plot is simple: you're in a tank and you've got to blow up other tanks before they do the same to you. The graphics are also simple: 3-D vector outlines, some objects shaded, some not. The fun is based on a classic concept: blowing stuff up is cool. There's no plot to remember, no tricky levels or puzzles, just classic 5 minute action.

iDracula

iDracula is a sweat-inducing shooter from More Games Entertainment and Chillingo. You play a vampire hunter while taking out hundreds of monsters and the occasional bloodsucker. Being outnumbered is a serious understatement. The difficulty level here is somewhere in between intense and brutal. If surviving endless waves of monsters until you inevitably die sounds like good times, iDracula is definitely the game for you!

The Quest

The Quest is a classic Role Playing Game (RPG) originally designed for Windows computers and some very early smartphones like the Palm Pilot. The questing here is in-depth, very customizable, and at times quite hard. Those who have the skill and patience, however, will find an addictive adventure style that's rarely been seen since the era of pen and paper RPGs.

Horror Racing

Horror Racing is a hectic arcade racing game where you outrace and outgun monster opponents on your way to the finish line. It's a perfect example that racing games for the iPhone don't have to have awkward controls that depend on the device's accelerometer. The graphics are rough and grungy, but that's pretty much to be expected with this particular theme. Don't let the title worry you, the "horror" is at a PG level. Think "Mad Max" meets "Monster's Inc." With missiles, speed boosts, and plenty of ramps, Horror Racing is a lot of fun and really easy to get into.

Sneezies

Sneezies is a puzzle game that I definitely feel falls in the "absolutely must have" category. The charming and colorful characters combined with an unbelievably simple idea make for dozens of hours of addicting fun. The fact that it's so simple, yet it can still be quite challenging make it, quite literally, a game for all ages.

Glide Factor, by Sprimp and Chillingo, is an action game app which mainly uses the iPhone’s accelerometer function. Tilt the iPhone to guide your spaceship through various obstacle courses in as little time as possible to get stars and badges. Blocks and enemies will cascade towards you while you choose to speed up or slow down by simply tilting your iPhone at highly sensitive degrees. With power-ups, funky graphics and music, and a variety of levels, Glide Factor will definitely keep you entertained.

Toki Tori

Toki Tori is likely one of the most adorable little games you can get for your iPhone today. The game puts you in control of Toki Tori, a newly born "chicken" who's on a quest to save his unborn siblings. Because you can't fly, you're given items and weapons along the way to help you traverse the various worlds and defeat baddies that stand in your way.
