AT&T Experimenting With Use Of Femtocells

AT&T's network coverage isn't terrible, but there are certain locations that they just don't cover. To solve this, word has it that they are looking in to the use of femtocells, or phone signal extenders that create a sort of cellular hotspot sing your high speed internet connection. Users Still Getting Frequent Dropped Calls After 2.1 Update (AT&T To Blame?)

Even after the 2.1 software update, some users are continuing to report reception issues on their iPhone 3Gs. While the 2.1 software update technically did claim that it wouldn't actually boost signal strength but make the signal more accurate. Nonetheless, I saw a noticeable difference in my reception, but some users say that the issue with dropped calls still persists.
