LateNiteSoft Releases Sketches 2

Our friends at LateNiteSoft today announced the release of Sketches 2 [App Store, $1.99], a major overhaul of the original Sketches app. Sketches 2 features numerous improvements, including a brand new UI designed to make the process of sketching easier and more enjoyable. The basic tools are situated at the bottom of the app, and more advanced tools can be pulled up when needed. Amazon Releases IMDb App

On Tuesday Amazon released IMDb [App Store, Free], an app which allows you to easily surf The Internet Movie Database in an iPhone-friendly format. The app provides access to all of IMDb's movies, actors, trailers, photos and more. It also provides access to primetime TV schedules, movie showtimes, upcoming movies, and much more!

We've talked a lot on the podcast about apps that give you access to IMDb, so we're pretty excited to see that they've finally come out with an official app.

Study Shows iPhone 3G Increasing iPhone Marketshare, Usage Spikes On Weekends

Web monitoring firm NetApplications has released the results of a study recently that show that the use of iPhones for web browsing has increased greatly with the launch of the iPhone 3G. Interestingly, 9to5 Mac has calculated that, based on the released information, iPhone web browsing spikes 50-70% on weekends.

New XM/Sirius Raidio App In Production

XM first announced that they were creating an official XM Radio client for the iPhone and iPod touch back in June, but little was heard from the company since then on an official app. More recently, however, information was leaked that GeeksToolBox is working on an app called StarPlayr as part of the StreamSmart project. It is suspected that it is in partnership with NiceMac because of their audio streaming Mac app by the same name.

uXM, uSirius Being Ported To iPhone 2.0 Software, Possibly App Store?

Millard Software has announced that they are currently working on porting their two satellite radio clients, uXM and uSirius, to the iPhone OS 2.0. Neither of them are official applications yet, so they will only run on a jailbroken phone, but both of them will work on EDGE, Wi-Fi, or 3G. With all the talk of a merger, it is hoped that they will soon turn their attention to the iPhone, but either way Millard Software is porting the apps using the SDK. They may try to launch them on the App Store if possible.

uSirius Streams Sirius Radio Over EDGE, Wi-Fi On iPhone

If you're having a bad case of the musical blahs and Instinctiv Shuffle isn't spicing things up enough for you, you might want to consider uSirius. It's a new native application available in Installer.app that lets you listen to Sirius Satellite Radio on your phone over an EDGE or Wi-Fi (and soon 3G). You can try the app for three days for free before you have to register, and it works smoothly over either internet connection. You can find it in Installer.app. [via Gizmodo]
