With a salesman over your shoulder pressing you to include the store’s array of accessories with your new iPhone and the nightmare of early destruction stuck on your mind, especially with the reports of easy scratches on a slate coating that is far from wear-resistant haunting the OCD, it can feel absolutely necessary to be suckered/own first-day protection from whatever collection the store has. Granted, some top-notch cases are offered at bigger retail locations although for the most part choices are limited and sometimes quality is settled on for the sake of urgency.
We've been hearing tantalizing rumors about a secret romance between Apple and graphics chip maker Information Technologies since April of 2008, possibly involving the making of a custom graphics chip for the iPhone and iPod touch line, but nothing conclusive was ever reported. It just so happens that today that very same graphics chip maker has announced a new high-end chip to their existing SGX series of components, the same line Apple puts in their iPhones and iPod touches.
Imagination Technologies has recently been contracted into a supplying an anonymous partner company with its current and future graphics and video cores. The new licensing agreement states that the unnamed company will be paying Imagination Technologies royalties throughout the life of the contract. The contract may also lead to a line of new graphics cores to be used as components of future products. Many suspect that Apple is the anonymous partner.
