How many times have you caught the "iPhone tick"? When you feel like your leg is vibrating - even when your iPhone isn't in your pocket. Or when you perceive a noise from the other side of the room, heck in a room not even remotely close, that you thought was your phone going off but was really a random noise that in reality doesn't sound as similar to a smartphone vibration as initially perceived. Sound familiar? That's only the tip of the iceberg as your iPhone continues to reprogram your brain with each new major feature. [Vote on the poll at the bottom of this post.]

Jumping back into the groove, today's holiday-themed app is almost as fun to play as it is cute! The game is Snow Brawlin' [App Store, Free] and it puts you in control of a cute little squirrel named Risoo who needs your help. You see, a gang of rogue rodents wants to take over his turf and his supply of nuts. So what's a squirrel to do but start a snowball fight!
Gameplay is simple; chuck snowballs at your furry foes while dodging their attacks. It's tons of fun, especially for a free game! If you like the game, an upgrade pack can be purchased in-game to add lives, four bonus levels, and access to the global leader board. Video below!
Today's holiday-themed app comes from the same great developer who created Monster Pinball [App Store, $3.99]. Snowy's Christmas Pinball [App Store, $1.99] features the same gameplay engine as Monster Pinball with a Christmas twist. The pinballs are actually Snowy's snowballs, which need to be saved from the evil Scrooge and the forgetful Santa. It's up to you to help Snowy because, well, he has sticks for arms.
It's totally cute and lots of fun! If you're a pinball fan, you can't go wrong with Snowy!
As some of you may know, I have a disease which causes me to like everything Weezer does, so today's holiday app shouldn't surprise you. The app is Christmas With Weezer [App Store, $4.99], and it's a special version of Tap Tap Revenge just for the holidays. The game features six classic holiday tracks recorded by Weezer, made just for the app. If you're bored of the same old holiday songs, Weezer's take on the classics will surely put you in the mood. The app also includes two bonus tracks—"Pork and Beans" and "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived."
The holiday tracks are also available as a stand-alone album, so I decided to embed them below using Lala.com. Weezer fanboyism aside, it's worth remembering that the game is 100% Tap Tap Revenge. It's tons of fun and looks amazing. I highly recommend it!
Today's holiday app aims to help you simplify one of the most frustrating activities of the season—Christmas shopping! Nice List [App Store, $0.99] from Polar Bear Farm is a Christmas gift manager that lets you keep track of all the people you need to buy for and what gifts you plan to give. You can track how much you've spent and whether a gift has been purchased, wrapped, and shipped. It's incredibly beautiful, super easy to use, and it's only $0.99!

Picking up where I left off yesterday, it's time to unveil the next holiday-themed app in our Holiday Apps 2009 special feature. Today's app is another game and it's called Trigger Happy Christmas [App Store, $0.99]. It's a simple game where you play as Santa, except Santa has a machine gun. Why does Santa have a machine gun? Because his elves have gone nuts. They're stealing presents and ruining Christmas in the process. So it's up to you to gather all the stolen gifts and annihilate each and every one of those greedy elves.
The game is filled with animated elf blood, guts, and brains which spew every which way, providing you with tons of wonderful joy-filled, elf-killing satisfaction. The game is $0.99 and totally worth it if you like the idea of Santa plus guns. And trust me, you'll like it. If you're not sure, check out the video below!
As you've probably already noticed, it's "holiday-themed" app season, which means tons of new apps featuring Santa and candy canes are popping up all over the place. But unlike last year's glut of cheap and frankly stupid apps, this year's set of holiday apps actually look good! So to celebrate, we've decided to feature some of the best holiday apps.
So to kick off our holiday apps feature, I have a freebie for you: The game is Elf Command [App Store] and it's absolutely wonderful. The premise is that it's rush-hour in Santa's workshop and it's your job to help the robotic elves sort the presents for delivery. If you're familiar with games like Flight Control, Elf Control is very similar except instead of airplanes, it's adorable, robotic elves.
