ESPN's new application allows users to watch sports on the go. WatchESPN is now available to iPhone owners in the app store, and allows live access to ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU, as well as the Web channel ESPN3.com. Downloading the app is free, but you must be an existing cable TV customer with Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, or Verizon Fios for it to work. The WatchESPN App Store page promises that more TV providers will be added in the future.
Just last week, Apple launched the iPhone Developer University Program, a free educational program aimed at universities to teach students of computer science how to develop software for the iPhone. The move has raised a lot of questions about how such a course could be taught with the current NDA restrictions Apple has in place.
