Today PayPal introduced a significant update to its free iPhone app that not only includes a complete interface overhaul, but some unique new features as well. The most unique addition is the collaboration with Bump Technologies, the company behind the popular contact sharing app, Bump [App Store, Free].
To use "bumping" to send or request money, both users need to be running the most recent version of the iPhone app. Then simply "bump" the phones together, enter the transaction amount and the exchange takes place. It's the easiest and most clever way to loan cash to a friend... or pay back that loan!
Today TomTom released another impressive update for its iPhone app, including optional traffic updates (via in-app purchase) plus a slew of new features, such as Google local search, pinch to zoom, automatic day/night mode, and music fading for voice directions. The update is free to existing users, and the app is now $30 cheaper for U.S. and Canada.

AT&T not only may have been telling the truth about its upcoming MMS feature for the iPhone, but may be launching the feature ahead of schedule per MacRumors with The Unofficial Apple Weblog kicking in to say that several readers have reported that MMS has stated working for them.

TUAW has received screenshots from a tipster which show what looks to be another new feature in the upcoming iPhone 2.2 Software Update. It now appears that new podcast episodes will be able to be downloaded directly to your iPhone (and possibly iPod touch) without the need to sync with iTunes. According to the tipster, the "Get More Episodes" button doesn't do anything at the moment, although it's likely due to the software's beta status. Screenshot follows below:
On Monday Facebook released version 2.0 of the Facebook iPhone application, bringing with it many significant improvements and additions. The biggest thing of note is that the interface has been significantly improved. You can now view and address notifications, see the full News Feed and News Feed comments, and tag photos right from the application. The update is also said to be much faster and more stable, especially for those who have a large number of friends. Full list of improvements follows:
Today Apple released an update to their fabulous Remote application for iPod touch and iPhone. The update adds the ability to remotely create Genius playlists on any Mac or PC running iTunes 8 or later. Additionally, the update also adds the ability to edit and create regular playlists as well. Users with remote speakers will also note that the interface for managing speakers has been moved to the "Now Playing" screen after tapping on the album artwork. The new features haven't been carried over to the Apple TV (yet). The update can be gotten from the "Updates" tab in the App Store or by going through iTunes. Remote is a free application.
Iconfactory released Twitterrific for iPhone v1.1 today, bringing with it a whole host of new features and bug fixes. Many of the added features address shortcomings and quirks found in the first version. Of note, the camera icon now asks whether you want to take a photo or select from your cameral roll and photos taken are saved to your iPhone before they're uploaded. Scrolling has been significantly sped up and many memory leaks have been plugged. Additionally, your scroll position doesn't change when exiting or refreshing the application.
