Microsoft has announced that Windows Live Hotmail now supports POP3 in select countries on a number of devices, including the iPhone. The announcement means that Hotmail users can now set their iPhone 3G to automatically retrieve email from their inbox based on a schedule.
Apple announced yesterday that they have finally restored web email access to the 1% of users who have either gone without it or had limited access to it since July 18. According to their Mobile Me status page, they have "completed restoring Mail service, including historical messages, to all of the 1% of affected members."
As you might remember, Sybase announced some time ago that they were working on porting their Information Anywhere Suite for letting IT organizations manage enterprise email to be iPhone compatible. They announced in April of this year that the iPhone was now supported by their iAnywhere suite, bringing Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange enterprise email to iPhone users. Now they are adding the iPhone 3G to that list as well.
