Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.x Finally Available for Download, Opens Up Custom iPhone Apps
After a few long months of waiting, the eagerly-awaited iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak tool has finally arrived, and users up to iOS 6.1 can now take advantage of custom iPhone apps. During the past few weeks, the jailbreak community has been watching Pod2g, Planetbeing, Pimskeks and MuscleNerd's Tweets to get fresh info about the Evasi0n jailbreak - now it’s here, thus the iPhone 5, iPad 4, and another twenty iDevices can be "jailbroken."
I just arrived at the Apple Store in Rancho Cucamonga, CA to check out all the iPad festivities. There are roughly 30 people in line right now, but it's steadily growing. A decent turnout, but nothing like any of the iPhone releases I've been to here.
The Apple sales people have come out a couple times offering waters and umbrellas to everyone in line. One also informed everyone that they are only accepting credit or debit cards for payment.
The iPad 3G hits the stores tomorrow at 5pm, and with the release of Apple's latest magical product, AT&T stands to sign up what I'm guessing will be a boatload of new customers. iPad owners will be able to sign up for and manage 3G data access right from their devices, and the associated costs look very reasonable. AT&T has provided a quick fact sheet to help answer your questions about the plans, and Apple has a web page set up to let you preview the management features.
