Awaken is an well designed iPhone app featuring a full screen clock, an alarm, a sleep timer and a flashlight. All of these functions look beautiful and function just as you would expect. This app turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into the perfect travel alarm. An iPad version is on the way and the developer has said it will be a universal app. I'm looking forward to seeing this app on the iPad.

Since the advent of the iTunes App Store, developers have introduced a fair number of vehicle related applications that made it easy and convenient to record and track fuel efficiency. There have also been auto insurance related apps launched by Nationwide, State Farm and others. Yet, until Car Minder Plus, the App Store was lacking an offering solidly designed for vehicle maintenance and repair tracking.

ACTPrinter is an extremely useful app that allows you to download any document you would otherwise print right to your iPhone. Once you go to Houdah Software's website and download the corresponding computer application, you're all set to go! This is one those app concepts that I'm really surprised isn't automatically included with the iPhone.

Grocery Gadget is yet another grocery list maker to hit the App Store. Like other apps of its kind, it lets you create shopping lists and then check off the items as you place them in your cart. Unlike other apps of its kind, it also allows you to take a picture of the item you want. This comes in really handy if you're sending someone else to the store and want to make sure they get the right scent of fabric softener. Another unique feature is that you can import lists from Grocery IQ (another popular grocery app)!
