Garf is a simple game of memory with vivid imagery and interesting challenges.
Another well-developed application by Mauvila Software, Garf uses multiple tones and objects to test your ability to remember a certain order, for as long as you can.
Each level requires players to last twenty rounds in order to reach the next. There are three levels, three ‘lives’ and endless replay capability. I was startled to discover that the first level is a near-exact replica to the 1978 Milton-Bradley children’s toy “Simon” (Garf switches the red and green).
The responsiveness of tapping the ‘buttons’ is a little slow, which can get bothersome. It’s simple to just tap through from memory, but there’s a barely-perceptible lag.
Speed and volume are adjustable in the Options submenu, and players can go as long as they’d like, or at least until they run out of chances. There is no way to achieve ‘extra lives’ or get more levels, but these three levels are quite interesting and there’s much more risk involved in having a constrained amount of chances. Overall, I really like this game a lot, but I’m hoping for an update that allows for a more perfect response time.
