21 Pro: Blackjack
21 Pro Blackjack is a traditional blackjack game with quite a few extras. Gameplay is very fast-paced, and you can win (or loose) a lot of money in a short amount of time. As you start playing, it's immediately apparent that a lot of time was put into the game to make it lots of fun to play, for both pros and beginners alike.
You can begin playing immediately if you'd like to, and your chip count will be saved if you exit the game. However, if you do some looking around, there's a lot more included than you'd expect.
The Good: I really like how fast-paced the game can get. Blackjack is obviously a quick game to begin with, which makes it great for a mobile device. Even in the sponsored version, ads hardly ever show up.
If you dig a little deeper into the game, you'll find some great resources. Extras available include:
- The history of Blackjack
- A huge list of Rules and Terms
- A description of game variations
- Lessons on basic strategy
- A section on card counting
If all of that isn't enough, the gameplay has a few other niceties which really make this game great. At any point during a hand, you can ask the dealer to recommend a move (hit, stand, etc). If you're into card counting, you can actually take a look at the current deck's count.
If you don't like the table cloth or the card backs, you can change those in preferences, along with a plethora of other settings for more advanced users.
The Bad: The only issue I had was that I couldn't find a way to get pas the "shuffling" animation and get back to the game.
The Bottom Line: Everything about this game feels thoroughly thought out. It's extremely fun to play, and great for beginners and pros alike. If you're planning a trip to Vegas, 21 Pro Blackjack is perfect for practicing. From the fun, fluid gameplay, to the fantastic tutorials and options, 21 Pro Blackjack is one of the best blackjack apps I've seen for the iPhone.
