about MobileFiles, Jeff's Pick of the Week

I downloaded MobileFiles the minute I heard Jeff describe it. It's good to see what you have on your iDisk, but it would be better if you could transfer files directly to a computer, kind of like AirSharing. I e-mailed the developer.

The developer has a note at the bottom of the page that they're working on a program to allow editing Word and Excel docs.

Dan

You know, sometimes these developer interviews aren't very entertaining. I find that usually it's better to have the developer integrated into the regular show format rather than as large, separate segment (ala MacBreak Weekly).

That said, I did find this interview very interesting indeed. These guys have a great story and it's an app we're all familiar with (which helps in terms of interest, I think).

Michael, you did a great job moving them along though their chronology and not really getting in the way until it was "time" to move on to the next question. Great episode!

"beauty is key"

It's great, Micheal, that you were able to get in touch with the guys from "Tapulous" to come do this podcast. Tapulous developers are some of the few that really pay attention to detail and design. From "Twinkle", the Twitter Client, to "Collage", the photo-sharing application; Tapulous are the best when is comes to detail and design. I'm in love with their art-direction. Even their website (http://tapulous.com) looks great. Nice to see developers following the "beauty is key", Apple way.

Iphone at Walmart

If I remember correctly, an iphone alley podcast panel member was skeptical about the iphone being on sale at Walmarts. It would be interesting to know how many iphones will be sold at Walmart.....

It would be interesting (unless panel members have more important topics to talk about) if on the next Iphone Alley Podcast, there was a short discussion of the iphone 3G being on sale at Walmart. I denoted a slight tone on a recent Iphone Alley Podcast that this might be "down marketing" either Apple or the iphone.
