On Tuesday, yellowpages.com announced the launch of a new web application for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. The application, which essentially serves as a reformatted version of its main web site, allows users to locate local businesses and services by searching via name or category from their iPhone or iPod touch. Additional details in the returned search results include user ratings, maps to access the business and driving directions.
The web site follows the iPhone/iPod touch browser design rules by automatically resizing its layout to adjust for both vertical and horizontal screen modes. To use the service, simply point the Safari web browser to yellowpages.com and go from there.
