Wired Survey: 3G Speeds Across America On All Networks

Around August of last year, Wired held a global survey in which iPhone 3G users around the world were asked to record the 3G network speeds on AT&T’s network. The data was then mapped out on a Google map, and the results were fascinating. Now they’re at it again, but this time it’s open to all smartphone users.

There are a couple of reasons for wanting to know what the data networks of all the major 3G carriers are like. For one, even if your iPhone has a good connection, calling someone else on a bad connection will still make talking difficult. Also, with rumors that the iPhone possibly making it’s way to Verizon, it’s more relevant than ever. To participate, follow the following instructions listed on their website.
