WinPwn 2.0.0.4 Released
Submitted by Edward Kirk on August 10, 2008 - 3:35am.
Those of you waiting for the Windows version of the latest PwnageTool are in luck. WinPwn 2.0.0.4 was just released. The new software offers support for iPod touches, iPhones, and iPhone 3Gs running 1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1. It also adds support for Root partition resizing, as well as Installer and support for WinXP and Vista in both 32/64bit. They note that a full uninstall of the previous version is required before installing this one.
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes ( Currently 7.7)
- WinPwn uses 300MB of ram at peak due to the ipsw being extracted in memory
- You must first click browse and load an IPSW to use WinPwn (i thought this was clear)
- For 2.0 only the *5A347_Restore.ipsw files are valid. The 345 image will not work
- If you see Failed to load image catalog/payload catalog, this is fine and won't cause problems
- If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix
Download 2.0.0.4 at Rapidshare.com or Rapidshare.de.
Thanks, Jose!

Is there a problem?
Also in response to your previous post
Just uninstall your current winpwn then install the new one and create a custom 2.01 ipsw and restore to it

I am now back to the buggy 2.0.0. Bug heaven! I would go back to 1.1.4 but I bought some apps so i feel like I would be getting ripped off if I wasn't running them. LOL.

Hold the home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds
Release the power button and keep holding the home button for another 10 seconds
Your screen should not come on at all, but iTunes will recognize a device in recovery mode.
Also if you're on windows, their should be a message that pops up in your task bar telling you that it found a "Apple Device (DFU) Recovery Mode"

1 Step At A Time
I Own A Iphone Running 2.0 Software Which It Tells Me In Itunes.. It Is Also Unlocked And Jailbroken...
Itunes Says There Is An Update For My Phone Version 2,1
I Know If I Download And Install It My Phone Will Lock So???????
If I Download And Install Will Running Winpwn Unlock And Jailbreak
My Iphone 2.0 To Version 2.1 Or Not//
I Follow The Winown Guide And Almost Fuked It Completely Luckily And Strangely Itunes Restored It Back To 2.0 { Weird}
So The Question Is
If I Update To 2.1 Will Winpwn Unlock And Jailbreak It To 2.1
Thanks For Looking At This Post And Hope It Clears Up Stuff For Others As Well

Last night I tested 2.0.1 and here some key points.
Please remember to update NOT restore!
iPod Touch - You can upgrade and not lose your Pwn status, but you will lose your jailbroken status. You will lose Cydia and all non approved Apple apps.
iPhone [first gen] - You can upgrade and not lose your Pwn status, but you will lose your jailbroken status. You will lose Cydia and non approved Apple apps. You will keep your unlock status though
Note: 2G owners are not in any danger of permanently losing either jailbreak or unlock, no matter what they update to. The baseband for 2G is fully controllable. The same applies to the iPod Touch since there is no baseband. So you will always be able to jailbreakand unlock your 2G iPhone and jailbreak your iPod Touch.
So you will be able to restore to the custom firmware and have no issues. You will need to reisntall all apps you previously had.
iPhone [3G] - if you plan to unlock when the unlock is available DO NOT UPGRADE. Below is from the iPhone Dev team.
* If your 3G iPhone is on a regular contract and you always plan to be with the carrier then you can update but you will lose the jailbreak and access to third party (non AppStore) applications.
* If your 3G iPhone is not on a regular contract and you plan to use it on an alternative network to the carrier that supplied it then do not update unless you do it with the impending PwnageTool update.
* PwnageTool v2.0.1 does not work with version 2.0.1 of the iPhone or iPod update from Apple.
* We will release an update to PwnageTool when the testing has been completed and all applied changes have been checked for
