Voice Dial Now Available In App Store

Looking for a voice dialing application? A new one that was previously available in Installer.app for jailbroken phones has just hit the App Store. It's called (not surprisingly) Voice Dial. If it's anything like the previous version, then it should be pretty good, but it carries a hefty price tag at $25. SpeechCloud, another voice dialing app, is offered for free, but reviewers are less than happy with it. You can find Voice Dial in the App Store. [via Gizmodo]

25 Bucks my @$$

I cant believe those rip off artist are asking 25 bucks for a voice dial program. I hope they choke on their debt!!

Again, this is why i dont support developers.... I will just get a free hacked copy thank you!!

$25 is a very hefty price for voicedialing! That pricepoint shocks me when you compare it with many of the highly polished programs that are only $10.

I've never used a voicedialing program... can someone explain how it would work? You must have to *run* the program before being able to use it since Apple doesn't allow background apps. Doesn't that diminish its usefulness a bit versus a home button double click and then press to dial? I'm not seeing the benefit.

Too Much at 1/2 the Price

The jailbroken version was 19.95 AND was not worth that price.
As a demo was available for the "jb" version, I gave it a run for the max time.

Sorry, not impressed!

With Hands Free becoming mandatory in many states, it is up to Apple to incorporate this into their handsets!

Update

Update: The iTunes Store now has a comment from them...
"Too many reviewers complained about the initial price, so we lowered it to $14.99."

And, sure enough, the price is now $14.99. I'm still going to argue that's too high but at least one developer got the message.

With no way to trial it, and the fact that my test with the previous version was terrible, I agree - still too high.

I believe any app in the App Store that has a fee should have a trial period whether 14 days or even 30 days before requiring the user to pay. I also believe voice dialing is something Apple should be providing for free in an update so as to compete with competitors instead of relying on third party developers to provide this service.
