Verizon Upping ETFs To Discourage Switching To iPhone
Considering getting a Blackberry or Droid on Verizon’s network, but unsure if you’ll want to jump ship and trade it for an iPhone once you do? Either hurry or forget it, because Verizon is doubling their early termination fees starting at the beginning of next week.
Starting November 15th (Sunday), they are raising their ETFs from $175 to $350 for all new contracts, decreasing by $10 (instead of $5) after each month of your contract.
ETFs (early termination fees) are used by phone companies to discourage you from bailing out on your contract after they subsidized that expensive phone you just got.
