On Monday, peripherals maker USBfever released a second generation of its Portable Power Station for the iPhone and iPod nano. The device functions as a backup battery, temporarily recharging an attached device when accessing electricity via a wall socket is impractical.
A second port located at the base of the Portable Power Station 2 lets users charge both internal and external batteries simultaneously or alternately sync with a computer as usual.
The Portable Power Station 2 is only rated at 800mAH and cannot fully charge an iPhone, though the device is more compact than its previous generation and able to recharge third generation iPod nano units. The unit retails for a shelf price of $28.
