Per the guys at TechCrunch, a group of developers with an as-yet-unnamed startup have begun working on a proximity-based social networking site. Once active, the application would allow for profile browsing and networking, allowing nearby iPhone users to locate each other and view profile information, thereby helping to ease actual interaction.
The article reports that the developers have discovered a means of allowing a third-party application to run in the background on the iPhone. Users can expect a site launch when the iPhone App Store goes live this summer.
