The Ultrasn0w OS 3.0 unlock for the iPhone and iPhone 3G demoed last Friday is now available in Cydia and Icy.

Ultrasn0w for iPhone 3G is ready!

  1. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to cydia or icy
  2. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
  3. Reboot your iPhone 3G
  4. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
  5. Enjoy

If I just want to use the phone with an att sim but not the iphone plan can i just jailbreak it or do i have to unlock it?

The DEV Team has done it again. I don't unlock my phone but I do appreciate all the efforts they make, towards jailbreaking. I know some people rather a lot of people were waiting for this unlock to come.

To my knowledge you just have to jailbreak.

I think you might need to jailbreak/unlock if you don't have an iphone plan. Even if you are using an ATT sim.
