Things We Like: 10 Apps To Check Out on iPad Day

We poked around the iTunes App Store for the coolest and most unique iPad apps and came up with a list of some of the apps we’ll be trading in our weekly Starbucks allowance to purchase. In no particular order, below is a small sampling of what we liked.

SketchBook Pro [App store, $7.99]

Big brother to SketchBook Mobile, this app claims to be a professional-grade paint and drawing app, which will no doubt provide much joy when creating on an iPad.

 

Brushes – iPad Edition [App store, $9.99]

Similar to SketchBook, Brushes has been reworked from its iPhone sibling into a full fledged iPad app. Also looks to be a fun creativity tool.

 

Twitterific for iPad [App store, free]

Iconfactory’s superb iPhone app is all grown up, providing what might be the best option for tweeting on the iPad.

 

NBA Game Time Courtside [App store, free]

NBA says this app has been designed from the ground up for the best possible iPad experience for all you roundball fans.

 

IDW Comics [App store, free]

You can’t have a geek tool like the iPad without expecting to find comics on it, and IDW is providing a rich experience for iPad owners to enjoy their favorite titles without ever having to pull out their collection from the plastic sleeve.

 

Weather HD [App store, $0.99]

If you were considering the iPad as a digital photo frame, you’ll want to check out this app for displaying today’s weather in the most spectacular way possible.

 

Command & Conquer Red Alert for iPad [App store, $12.99]

Competing to have the longest name in the App Store, this game was made for the iPad and has been sitting around on PCs just waiting Apple to catch up! The multitouch interface should prove to be a perfect match for one of the most popular Electronic Arts game series.

 

Delivery Status Touch [App store, $4.99]

The premier package tracking app for the iPhone just got better with this universal app. It’s so good, it makes us want to ship a bunch of stuff just to track it.

 

AIM for iPad [App store, free]

Instant Messaging comes to the iPad with AIM for iPad. Let’s just hope the multitasking rumors are true.
