Are you going on a trip to Europe soon? Coolgorilla has released a talking iPhone translator, which provides audio translations in French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Greek with more languages expected to come.
You select the language you wish to use, then from a list of categories, such as Socializing, a list of phrases would then appear and you merely select the one you wish to hear. The voices are from native voice over artists which give correct pronunciation. The application is a free download. While the application works very well, this early version does not allow the user to input text, and so you're stuck with the, though extensive, list of presets.

Nice, but the iPhone QuickTime Player chops the end of the audio before going back to the web page
