Taiwan iPhone Launch Announced, China Launch Soon?

Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s biggest mobile phone carrier, is scheduled to launch the iPhone 3G on their network in December. They announced the deal with Apple last weekend. They say that the launch will be part Apple’s third major wave of rollouts in their worldwide iPhone 3G launch effort that, according to rumors, will include China as well.

Two Taiwanese executives commented on the launch at the time, claiming that Apple was much more interested in a China launch due to the larger market, and thought it would launch there first because they would make Chinese language support before Taiwanese language support. Now that Taiwan has been announced, they’re guessing that Chinese language has long been finished.
