Sunday Release hinted for iOS 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak
The four months of waiting is over: The last piece missing from the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak puzzle is out, as Apple released the final version of iOS 6.1 on Saturday (for developers) and pushed it out to the public on Monday. MuscleNerd and the other three hackers working on the iOS 6, 6.1 untethered jailbreak under the name of @Evad3rs are making preparations for a public release, and it is more than likely it will be unleashed on Sunday.
Before the iOS 6.1 public release, MuscleNerd had already hinted at an exciting week, as the @Evad3rs have all the necessary exploits to make the iOS 6, 6.1 jailbreak public, but, as we previously reported, they decided to wait until Apple made its move.
@unicornhacker yes, every other 6.1 device variation will be supported. All TWENTY-TWO of them (omg!). Plus atv2 if it’s out in time.

To intensify the already palpable anticipation, MuscleNerd just talked about the possible day on which the eagerly awaited untethered jailbreak would arrive. He asked: Hey, did everyone know the Super Bowl is this Sunday? What will you be doing this weekend?
Major jailbreaks have been released on Sundays before, giving birth to the “Sunday is Funday” catchphrase on Twitter.
In other words, it looks like this weekend we can expect to enjoy the Super Bowl and jailbreak at the same time.
The other good news comes from Planetbeing, another member of the @Evad3rs, who tweeted that the code found in the recently released iOS 6.1 is vulnerable to the exploits the jailbreak team is planning to use.
However, he also highlighted the amount of work the team has to deal with to enable the iOS 6, 6.1 untethered jailbreak for the public.
The @Evad3rs have to merge and polish two proof of concepts, followed by the testing phase.
So, the question remains: Will the jailbreak team have enough time to release the untethered jailbreak this Sunday?
It is almost certain that they will, as MuscleNerd wouldn’t have tweeted what he did earlier.
We’ll surely have an interesting week ahead, especially on Sunday, so if you want to enjoy the iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak, prepare your devices via an iTunes restore, instead of OTA update, and make some free time on Sunday.
