Starbucks Launches AT&T Wi-Fi Portal For iPhone/Touch

in

As some of you recall, Starbucks cut a deal with AT&T a while back to take over as their internet provider for Wi-Fi hotspots, and there was some speculation that it might mean free Wi-Fi for iPhones/iPod touches. Well, they were partly right. AT&T has created a new log-in portal for Starbucks hotspots for the Apple handhelds, and now offers two hours of free Wi-Fi.

Using their iPhone-optomized portal, iPhone/touch users can easily log in and purchase a membership or day pass, as well as use a coupon or prepaid card, right from the device. It would be a great alternative for users who don't want to carry a notebook around.

if i had a quarter????

If i had a quarter for every company or joe schmoe who wants me to create an account or membership to do something on my iphone, I would have some very heavy pockets.

Not that i go to the overpriced coffee superstore to buy a cup of water with coffee grinds in it, but why do i need an account to get my two free hours? let alone why i would want to stay there for two hours....This is why the economy is so bad. people complain about gas being 4 buck a gallon, but they pay 6 bucks for a pint of coffee with carmel in it. Where are our priorities America?

I would guess that the country has gone to hell because of people who complain about what other people do with their time or money; end up going on a completely unrelated forum and submitting a piece of their "insight"... and with very abundant grammatical errors, I might add. But who's perfect, right?

Coffee lover

My local coffee shop (not a starbucks) offers unlimited free wi-fi to all it's customers.

Since I have ATT internet at home, I was able to walk into Starbucks, and sign in with my SBC Global e-mail. I get unlimited internet access now! It's still the tmobile wifi, but when you open of Safari on ur iPhone/iPod touch, on the top right-hand corner there will be an orange box. Then from there you follow the instructions. I am really psyched because of this!
