Sprint iPhone Rumors Heating Up

The Sprint iPhone rumor is starting to gain some steam. On Friday, Bloomberg reiterated the Wall Street Journal’s claim that Sprint would be carrying the iPhone 5 in mid-October. Bloomberg added that Sprint would be retaining their unlimited data service plans for the iPhone 5 in hopes to compete with AT&T and Verizon. If true, Sprint would be the only U.S. carrier to offer free unlimited data for the iPhone.

SprintFeed also threw some fuel on the fire by publishing a screenshot of Sprint’s internal systems showing a blackout for a “major phone release” in October. Sprint’s Galaxy S ll is being released next week, but the blackout begins on September 30th. So it must be something bigger than your normal Android launch.

There has been no word on a T-Mobile iPhone since the rumor broke in late August, but some analysts believe Apple will expand to all four major U.S. carriers in October to compete with the rapidly growing Android market.
